How it works

Frequently asked questions
Does the tool crop the image?
No. Canvas extension adds padding to the outside — nothing is cropped from the original. The original image is centred in the new canvas.
Can I choose the padding colour?
Yes. A colour picker lets you choose any background colour for the padding. White and black are preset shortcuts; transparent output is available for PNG.
What is this used for?
Common uses: squaring a portrait for Instagram (1:1), adding pillarbox bars for YouTube thumbnails that need a specific ratio, or preparing product images for e-commerce platforms that require a specific canvas size.
