or click to browse — JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF

How this works

Your image is loaded directly into a browser canvas. Hovering reads the RGBA values of individual pixels using the Canvas 2D API. Clicking pins the colour to your palette, where you can copy hex, RGB, or HSL values to clipboard with one click. Nothing leaves your device.

How it works

  • Drop any image file — PNG, JPG, WebP, or AVIF
  • Click anywhere on the image to sample the colour at that exact pixel
  • Copy the HEX, RGB, or HSL value to use in your design tool

Frequently asked questions

How precise is the colour sampling?

Samples the exact pixel under your cursor — no averaging. For smooth gradients, move your cursor slowly to find the transition point.

Can I sample colours from a transparent PNG?

Yes. Clicking on a transparent pixel shows the RGB values of the colour channel with the alpha value. Fully transparent pixels report 0,0,0 with alpha 0.

Is there a way to compare multiple sampled colours?

The tool stores your last 10 sampled colours in the session history panel so you can compare swatches side by side.

Pixel inspection

Move from a visual guess to reproducible colour values

The eyedropper samples the rendered pixel and keeps HEX, RGB, and HSL representations synchronized for design and code workflows.
