Free Tool

The complete browser-based video workflow for content creators

Replace backgrounds, upscale, edit, and export — no subscriptions, no uploads, free forever.

The problem

Content creation requires juggling multiple paid tools: one for editing, one for upscaling, one for export. Subscriptions add up quickly and cloud tools upload your raw footage.

The NSS solution

NSS provides a complete in-browser video pipeline: composite a replacement background as a layer, upscale with Lanczos, edit with the full Video Editor (backgrounds, grading, text, trim), and export. All on your device, all free.

How to use it

  • 1

    End-to-end video production

Record → composite background → edit (colour grade, text, trim) → export MP4. Complete pipeline in one browser tab.

  • 2

    Upscale legacy footage

Use the Video Upscaler to bring older 360p or 480p clips up to 960p for social media without re-recording.

  • 3

    Reaction cutouts

Remove backgrounds from screenshots and stills for reactions, profile avatars, and Notion embeds.

  • 4

    Thumbnail headshots

Remove the background from your headshot and drop the cutout onto a bold thumbnail background.

Step-by-step guide

  1. 1

    Composite your video background

Go to /video-editor. Drop your clip and add a background layer behind it.

  2. 2

    Edit

Set the background, colour grade, and add text overlays.

  3. 3

    Trim and export

Use the timeline trim handles to cut to the perfect length, then export as MP4 or WebM.

  4. 4

    Upscale if needed

For low-resolution clips, use /video-upscale first for a 2× resolution boost before compositing.

Common questions

Is there a watermark on exported video?

No. Exports are clean with no watermark, attribution, or branding imposed by NSS.

What is the maximum video length?

Up to 5 minutes per clip in the editor. Upscaling works best on clips under 60 seconds.

Can I export the same clip in multiple formats?

Yes. In the Video Editor, you can export multiple times with different settings without re-processing.
