Step-by-step guide

Select Best Quality mode first
Switch to Best Quality (RMBG-2.0) before uploading. Veil lace and hair details require the higher-quality model.

Upload the portrait
Full-resolution JPG from your camera — up to 4096 × 4096 px processed at original dimensions.

Check veil and lace edges at 100%
Zoom in fully to check lace edges and flyaway hair. Use the Restore brush at low opacity (10–20%) for any detail that was clipped.

Apply Decontaminate if needed
For portraits with coloured church or outdoor lighting, Decontaminate removes colour spill from the background on edge pixels.

Export and verify
Export PNG at full resolution. Wait for the green alpha integrity checkmark before including in client files.
Common questions
Will it handle lace veil edges?
Best Quality mode handles lace and veil textures significantly better than the fast model. Very fine lace over a very similar background tone may still need brush touch-up, but most veil scenarios process cleanly.
Are exports compatible with album design software?
Yes. NSS exports straight-alpha PNG. This composites correctly in SmugMug AlbumStomp, Fundy Designer, Canva, Photoshop, and every professional album tool.
What if the couple wore white on a white background?
White dress on white background is the hardest possible scenario. Shoot against a grey or coloured backdrop for best results. If you have white-on-white, Best Quality mode with Edge Refinement gives the best chance, but manual brush work will be needed.
