Menu and social photos that make food irresistible
Clean food photo backgrounds for menus, Instagram, and Google listings — free.
The problem
Restaurant food photos shot on a busy kitchen counter or wooden table look amateur on social media and Google Business profiles. Hiring a food photographer for every new dish is expensive. And most photo editors are too complex for a restaurant operator to use between services.
The NSS solution
NSS is simple enough to use in minutes — upload a food photo, remove the background, export on a complementary colour. No software to install, no subscription, no account.
How to use it
- 1
Menu photography on clean backgrounds
Export dish photos on white, cream, or a complementary colour for a clean, professional menu layout.
- 2
Google Business and Yelp profile photos
Clean food and restaurant exterior photos for your Google Business listing, Yelp, and OpenTable profiles.
- 3
Instagram food content
Remove the cluttered counter or table from food photos and replace with a branded, on-theme background for social.
- 4
Delivery app menu images
DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Skip all recommend or require clean food photos for menu items. Process your dish photos for better conversion.
Step-by-step guide
- 1
Photograph your dish
Natural light near a window or a simple ring light. Shoot from above (flatlay) or at a 45-degree angle. Any background — the counter, a chopping board — works.
- 2
Upload to NSS
Drag your photo into NSS. Fast mode handles food photos cleanly in most cases. Use Best Quality for dishes with fine garnish details.
- 3
Clean up food edges
Food photos can have complex edges (herbs, sauce drips, garnish). Use the brush tool at low opacity to restore any fine details that were cut.
- 4
Set your background
White for menus. Your brand colour or a warm cream/stone for social. Or export transparent for Canva.
- 5
Export and publish
Download as JPG for Google and delivery apps. PNG for Canva and design tools.
Common questions
Will it work for food with sauce or liquid drizzle?
Sauce drips and liquid edges are challenging. Best Quality mode handles them better. Use the restore brush at low opacity to bring back any drizzle detail that got clipped.
What background colour makes food photos look best?
White or warm off-white (cream, linen) are the most versatile and food-safe. Rich colours (dark wood tone, forest green, burgundy) work for premium brand aesthetics.
Can I do this on my phone between services?
Yes. NSS runs in iOS 16+ Safari and Android Chrome. Slower than desktop but usable.
Is this free?
Yes. NSS is free with no account and no usage limits.
