Browser-based asset prep for UI/UX designers — no Photoshop subscription

Transparent screenshots, favicons, resized assets, and format conversion. All in one place.

The problem

UI/UX design asset preparation requires multiple tools: Photoshop for background removal, a favicon generator for .ico files, an image resizer for responsive breakpoints, and a converter for WebP. Paying for multiple tools when all you need is a few image operations feels like overkill.

The NSS solution

NSS provides the complete image utility toolkit in one browser tab: Screen Capture Background Remover for transparent UI screenshots, ICO Creator for favicons and app icons, Image Resizer for exact pixel dimensions, Canvas Extender for aspect ratio adjustments, and Format Converter for PNG/WebP/AVIF. All free, all local.

How to use it

  • 1

    Create favicons from brand marks

Upload your logo or mark, remove the background, and use the ICO Creator to generate a favicon at all required sizes (16, 32, 48, 64px) in one step.

  • 2

    Extract transparent UI from screenshots

Screenshot a UI component or app screen, remove the white or coloured background, and export a transparent PNG for use in design mockups and presentations.

  • 3

    Resize assets for responsive breakpoints

Use the Image Resizer to quickly scale UI images to exact pixel dimensions for mobile, tablet, and desktop without opening Figma or Photoshop.

  • 4

    Convert design exports to WebP

Figma and Sketch export PNGs. Use the Format Converter to batch-convert to WebP or AVIF before handing off to developers for performance.

  • 5

Extend canvas for aspect ratio changes

When a design spec changes from 16:9 to 4:3, the Canvas Extender lets you add transparent padding without re-cropping or redrawing the original image.

Common questions

Can I generate favicons in .ico format?

Yes. The ICO Creator exports multi-size .ico files (16, 32, 48px) as well as individual PNG sizes for Apple touch icons and web app manifests.

Does the Canvas Extender preserve transparency?

Yes. Extended canvas is added as transparent pixels in PNG and WebP output. No fill colour is applied unless you choose one.

Can I remove backgrounds from Figma component screenshots?

Yes. Export your Figma component as PNG, then drop it into the Screen Capture BG Remover. The AI handles UI screenshots cleanly on both light and dark backgrounds.

Is there any cost?

No. All tools are completely free with no account and no usage limits.
