How to use it

Background removal: remove any background without a green screen
Start with the Video Background Remover. Upload your MP4 or MOV, choose Fast or Best Quality mode, select a replacement background, and download a clean WebM with the subject isolated.

Color grading: apply a cinematic look to your footage
Feed the background-removed WebM into the Video Filter tool. Choose from 8 LUT presets (Faded Film, Warm Glow, Cool Mist, etc.) and adjust intensity. The grade applies equally to the subject and replacement background for a unified look.

Stabilization: smooth out handheld shake
If your source footage has camera shake, run it through the Video Stabilizer before or after colour grading. Frame-differencing stabilization reduces translational movement without a dedicated plugin or GPU application.

Upscaling: double or quadruple the resolution
Use the Video Upscaler to scale up lower-resolution footage to 2× or 4× before final export. WebGL Lanczos processes each frame in milliseconds — no AI model download required.

Editing and final export: trim, grade, overlay, and download
Open the processed clip in the Video Editor for final trimming, text overlays, and any additional colour adjustments. Export the final clip as WebM, then convert to MP4 using HandBrake if your platform requires it.
Step-by-step guide

Step 1 — Remove the background
Upload your clip to /video-bg-remove. Choose your model and replacement background. Download the WebM output.

Step 2 — Apply a color grade
Upload the WebM from Step 1 to /video-filter. Choose a preset and intensity. Download the graded WebM.

Step 3 — Stabilize if needed
If your original footage had camera shake, upload to /video-stabilize. Process and download the stabilized WebM. (This step can also come before Step 2.)

Step 4 — Upscale if needed
If your source footage is lower resolution, upload to /video-upscale and choose 2× or 4×. Download the upscaled WebM.

Step 5 — Edit and export
Open the final WebM in /video-editor. Trim, add text overlays, make final grade adjustments, and export. Convert the WebM to MP4 using HandBrake for Instagram, TikTok, or other MP4-only platforms.
Common questions
What is the typical workflow for a social media talking-head clip?
Remove background → Apply colour grade → Edit (trim, text) → Export WebM → Convert to MP4. For most talking-head clips under 30 seconds, the entire pipeline takes under 30 minutes in the browser.
What GPU or hardware do I need?
A modern laptop or desktop running Chrome or Edge is sufficient. WebGPU acceleration is available on most GPUs from 2018 onwards (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Apple Silicon). WASM fallback works on any device but is slower.
Are the WebM outputs from one tool compatible with the next tool's input?
Yes. All NSS video tools accept WebM (VP9) as input and produce WebM (VP9) as output. You can chain tools in any order without conversion steps between them.
Do I need to re-upload to each tool?
Currently each tool is a separate page. Download the WebM from one tool and upload it to the next. A future integrated pipeline view is planned that will allow direct tool-to-tool handoff.
